Our first issue examined identity. In an attempt to understand how origin influences our motivations and tastes, we asked our readers a question and opened with, where are you from? Issue one refreshed and expanded our own understanding of the Levant and introduced a region that is relatable regardless of where you are technically from. Issue two takes it one step further. 2019 is a time where just about anything is within reach, authentic regional cuisine, traditional garb, contemporary culture – it’s all an Uber ride away. Origin is a starting point but what defines a person is not where they are from but rather what they choose to be a part of in the present.
