The first issue of As Promised introduces the individuals that breathe new life into the region alongside those who maintain age-old traditions, making up the sights, sounds and flavors of the Levant.

Issue one opens with the question, where are you from? The As Promised staff and its contributors are all tied to the Eastern Mediterranean, some with affiliations more obvious than others. The unifying thread we cling to is a steadfast devotion to listening. We pen the stories of our brethren in an indelible ink, pigmenting what we hope to be a new consciousness within the region.
