At the onset of the new decade currents of uncertainty began to ebb towards the most safeguarded of our collective shorelines. For the 5th issue of As Promised, we strived to make the most of this unforeseen pause around the globe and took the time to produce stories that both speak to the current climate while also looking forward to progress, a world on the mend.
In the issue, Reem Kassis reveals the nuances of Palestinian cuisine during an in depth interview and Beirut-based design duo David Raffoul and Nicolas Moussallem divulge what it takes to harness the potential emotional resonance of a given project and how they add life to the functional. We went unnoticed with photographer Merav Ben Loulou as she photographed moments backstage before, during, and after fashion shows. As always, we devote ourselves to listening to the stories that can better our today and tomorrow. We’ve listened, and excitedly encourage you to consider doing the same.
